Faith In Christ Jesus

What is Faith?

According to the word of God faith is confidence in what we hope for, the assurance about what we do not see (Hebrew 11: 1).

What does this mean?

This means that through faith in Christ Jesus we can receive salvation, which Christ paid the debt of the world to bring us back to the Heavenly Father. One cannot just simply say I acknowledge you Jesus and that is it. That is not how it works.

You must truly surrender yourself to Christ, through this surrender you are humbling yourself before Christ by saying I submit to your will, and I am committed to following you till eternity.

We are saved by grace through faith in Christ and not by our works because if all it takes is works everybody would be easily able to get into Heaven. But that is not how our Heavenly Father works.

Instead, it takes True faith, this comes through humbling ourselves, having the willingness to die to ourselves and give ourselves to Christ and saying you are my Lord and Saviour I surrender to you oh God my Redeemer.

How do you grow faith?

We can grow faith through Feeding on the Word of God. Just has it say in Romans 10:17 “faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ”.

This means that by reading the word you are feeding and giving nourishment unto your spirit.

According to 1 Peter 2:2 it says, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation”.

Spiritual milk refers to the word of God, by getting into the word daily you are getting your spiritual milk which helps you to grow in your salvation.

Now we go into Ephesians 2: 8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God”.

This means that you receive salvation by trusting, salvation is not earned through effort.

James 1:22 “ Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says”.

This means dying to your flesh everyday and obeying the Word of God. If your flesh is being lazy or weak and not wanting to read the Word, do the opposite of it.

This means grabbing your bible or bible app and read even if it is just a verse and meditate on that one verse all day. That is how your faith grows and how you nourish or feed your spirit.

You do not have to have a perfect faith to surrender to Christ just as, He said in Matthew 17: 20 “Because you have little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move”.

You just need a little as a grain of mustard seed and that is enough for God to work with.

Trust in the Lord “come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners and purify your hearts, you double-minded”. This is James 4: 8.

What is Takeaway from All of This?

The misconception that everyone has about God is God wants absolute perfection when that is far from the actual truth.

God meets us exactly where we at, you do not need to have your life together to surrender to him, you do not have to stop sinning to surrender to him.

If Christ did, he would not have been approaching sinners and approach those that go to the synagogues then, but no. He went after the lost sheeps, Jesus left the ninety-nine and went after the one and you are among the one that he is going after.

So, this is the moment to stop and search deep withing your heart and ask yourself these questions.

  1. Are you genuinely happy with the way your life is right now?
  2. Do you feel like something is missing in your life?
  3. Do you find yourself chasing one goal after another and still find something missing when you achieve those goals?
  4. Do you find yourself feeling alone no matter how many people you have in your life?

If the answers to these questions are yes, then consider giving your life to Christ and surrendering to him and accepting him as your Lord and Savior. God is all about Love, grace, mercy and so much more. He will never leave you nor abandon you.

We are talking about a God that came into this world as one of us, lived in perfection, never did any wrong, was accused of things that he never did and was crucified for it in order to pay the price for the sins of the world. Sacrificing his life to redeem us.

Would you rather try someone who gave you his all or the world that does not but tells you lies after lies and that keeps draining you and taking away from you?

The answer for me is a definite yes. I have experienced the world and know what it offers and does not compare to submitting and giving my life to Christ, and because of him I now my identity and where I belong. I belong to a royal family that is of the Heavenly realm that is outside of time, who created me and called me by name.

Why would I want to go back to a world that is ran by the prince of this world who feeds nothing but lies and deceit and make you feel like you are getting what you want but at what cost? I have spent majority of my years in the world dealing with heart breaks, headaches, and gains that I thought were from the Lord but were not.

Now I am living and walking free. I thank God for his grace and mercy he has given me.

My faith had not been consisted because i had not been really reading my bible but when i really started diving into the Word of God that was when i started growing in faith and trusting more in God an realizing that i had the most powerful weapon with me the whole time all my life and i was just letting sit collecting dust.

Please share your own story of coming to faith in Christ and be an inspiration to those who are still on the edge, deciding if they want to dive in or not. By sharing your own you are drawing those who are seeking comfort closer to Christ.
