Matthew 6: 14 – 15 states, For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 6: 14 – 15
“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
KJV
There is no greater love like God’s love despite the sins of man from the beginning of time, never once has he forsaken or left us.
Rather than being angry with us, he shows us compassion and mercy.
He loved us so much that he gave his only son, to redeem us by Christ sacrificing his life on the cross to buy us back from the hands of Satan.
A perfect lamb was slain to free us from the spiritual bondage of sin.
Psalm 103: 8 – 14 says, The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor reward us according to our iniquities.
For as the Heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
As Far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us ( This is talking about Jesus).
Like as a Father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
As Far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us ( This is talking about Jesus).
God is merciful and gracious to forgive our sins.
So why are we as humans not able to forgive the little things anyone’s done to us?
Why do we let our emotions, which the enemy uses to easily manipulate us, unless submitted unto God cause us to sin?
Jesus forgave us our sins and willingly died to save us.
So what right do we have to withhold forgiveness from the next person?
We want Jesus to overlook and forgive our everyday living of sins, but we are not even able to forgive a common man who either bumped us, stole from us or did the very things we have done to others.
I know forgiving cannot be easy to do, but asking God to help us to forgive can help us to heal, let go and forgive.
Why are we so quick to forget that the most powerful of all forgave us as he died on that cross?
After completely surrendering my life to Christ, my view on forgiveness has changed.
Just as i pray for God to forgive me, i also pray for him to search me and if he finds anything i have not forgiven anyone for, i ask that he helps me to forgive, heal, and let go. Because who am i not to forgive anyone who have wronged me.
The book of Ephesians 4:32 says, and be ye kind one to another tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:32
and be ye kind one to another tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
KJV
Apart from Christ, every man and woman is born a sinner. so what makes you so special that you feel like you cannot forgive your mother, father, brother, sister, husband, wife, children for anything they have done?
Or why you cannot forgive your husband or wife for cheating on you or that coworker that plotted and schemed their way to getting that promotion you think you deserve?
Be careful of that bad fruit coming forth without you being aware of it. You are unawarely creating a sense of entitlement in you, along with bitterness and every evil fruit there is of.
Do we not realize that forgiving and hanging on to every hurt and pain that was dealt to us, we are hanging on to that very thing Jesus said he already paid the price for?
You not forgiving is like you telling Jesus, i know you died on the cross to save me, but i am going to hang on to this pain and hurt a little long than necessary because i am find it comfortable to hold onto. Holding on to the very thing we ask God to free us from or help with.
You are now taking on this pain you don’t want to let go and creating a loop hole or access point for the enemy to use as a way of enter and reside.
Jesus even said in Matthew 18: 21 – 22; 23 – 24 “Then came peter to him, and said Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and i forgive him? till seven time?
Jesus saith unto him, i say not unto thee, until seven times but, until seventy times seven.”
Then the scripture moves unto the story Jesus told about an unforgiving servant.
It says,
“Therefore is the kingdom of heaven liken unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
And when he had begun to be reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand (the modern equivalent ranges from three billion to over hundred billion dollars).
But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, lord, have patience with me, and i will pay thee all.
Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants which owed him an hundred pence (the modern equivalent is worth around one dollar and thirty-two cents): and he laid hangs on him, and took him by the throat, saying pay me that thou owest.
And his fellow servant fell down at his feet, and sought him, saying, have patience with me, and i will pay thee all.
And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
So when his fellow servants say what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, o thou wicked servant, i forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow servant, even as i had pity on thee?
And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
Then Jesus went on to say in verse 35, so likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses.
So please ask yourselves this question, if God is to collect on all the debt we owe him, are we able to pay it all back like the servant to his lord?
Jesus forgave us, so what is keeping you from forgiving those who have hurt you?
Here is my challenge to you. Ask God to search deep within your heart and if there is someone in your life that you find difficult to forgive. Ask God to help you to surrender all of it to him.
Then ask him to heal you, then to help you to forgive whomever it is, and lastly reach out to that person and tell them you have forgiven them, unless it is a life threatening situation then confess it to God from the depth of your heart that you have forgiven that person or persons and then thank God for that healing, because it is not by power, nor by your might, but by the spirit of the living God.
Thank you God for your gift of grace and mercy that you have shown us. God search with our hearts for any unresolved hurt and pain that is keeping us from aligning to your will and reveal it to us, that you can begin the healing process in us, help us to forgive and let go of everything hurt, pain, bitterness and wall that we have built due to it. That we may have reasons to glorify and magnify your name till eternity, in Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post and pray the Lord’s anointing would begin his transformation and healing in you in his Holy name, Amen.
